Dessert Anyone? Try Out Some of Orange County, CA's Sweetest Treats

I admit it, my idea of dessert is a bowl of any kind of berry. But there are some days that this woman cannot live on veggies alone! Yes, I throw caution to the Santa Anas and I want dessert. Now for me, this is not an easy task-as I have a dairy allergy. But for those who enjoy my restaurant suggestions and other articles I will do anything I have to so I'm sure you come visit Orange County and know where to go to finish off your day with something sinfully delicious.

Now in all honesty, I love spots such as the various Pacific Whey Baking Companies. The coffee is wonderful and it doesn't have "baking" in the name for nothing! Every pastry is to die for, truly. The cookies are thick and chewy/soft. The danishes are flaky and filled with different fruits or a wonderful citrusy cream cheese. Even the fat-free fruit muffins are divine. What is my favorite and worth a case of the itchies for? My husband and I adore the chocolate pinwheels. No matter what you chose, the baked goodies are so good.

If you like your desserts to arrive before your dinner check, you will not be disappointed if you split a meal and then share one of the desserts at either any of the Claim Jumper (CJ's) or The Cheesecake Factory restaurants that are scattered throughout the county. Even a bran muffin at CJ's takes like a decadent chocolate cake and can easily satisfy three people! The Cheesecake Factory has over 30 different flavors to chose from or a huge apple dumpling.

Going with a group or is it a special date night? A fun place is the Melting Pot or La Fondue. The chocolate pots with dunking goodies are so rich and delicious. Unfortunately, both restaurants say that dessert only can only be accommodated if they have empty tables at the end of the evenings.

Zov's Bistro is not only an excellent restaurant from breakfast through dinner, but Zov is quite the excellent pastry chef as well. The best part is that Zov has a bakery area so if there's "no room for dessert" either in your tummy or in the eatery, you can have it wrapped prettily for you to enjoy when you get home.

If you prefer your dessert to be of the frozen kind-head over to any of the Cold Stone's or the Golden Spoons-you have your choice of fat contents, add-ins and sizes! Ruby's diners also have a great selection of sundae's and shakes.

Remember, human's do not live on healthy cravings alone!
