One of the youngest states in America is Alaska, becoming the 49th state on January 3, 1959 and is the largest state. However, due to the rugged climate, Alaska is the least populated state yet that does not stop tourist from travel there each year. 1. Buskin River State Park: If you are looking for a delightful view of some beautiful shorelines, than the Buskin River State Park should be a stop on your Alaskan tour. Travelers from around the world visit this part, especially to fish for coho salmon and sockeye, but for those that want more than just fishing the Buskin River State Park is a great location for hiking or mountain biking that lead through old military roads leading to hidden structures from World War II.

The park also features a vast quantity of wildlife, as well as, camping sites for $10.

2. Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum: It is the goal of the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum to preserve, display, and honor Alaska's aviation heritage. The museum offers exhibits on Bush pilots history and Military.

While there, visitors will get a chance to see a vast collection of art and enjoy a simulation of old-time planes.

The cost to get into the Alaska Aviation Heritage Museum is only $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, Children ages 5-12 can get in for $6 while anyone under the age of 4 can get in for free.

3. H2Oasis: There is just something about playing in the water that everyone can enjoy and the H2Oasis is Alaska's very own indoor water park. The park includes a wave pool, water coasters, a lazy river, and many other water adventures.

Known as the "Tropical Island in the Last Frontier", the H2Oasis has different prices to meet your needs. From day pass to parent/toddler prices, there is a price range to meet everyone needs.

4. Alutiiq Museum & Archaeological Repository: Located in Kodiak, Alaska, the Alutiiq Museum brings the present to the past when visitors are given a chance to explore the heritage of Alutiiq. While there, you can see ancient artifacts, learn traditions, and discover a little history.

The cost of admission at the Alutiiq Museum is very cheap. Anyone under the age of 16 gets in free, while everyone else pays only $5.

5. Alaska Museum of Natural History: The Alaska Museum of Natural History is a place that kids will love, and probably not want to leave. With displays of dinosaurs and even a simulated fossil dig are just a couple of the kid friendly activities located at the Alaska Museum of Natural History.

The newest exhibit is on Alaska ice, but it won't be there long with new exhibits arriving and while there you should check out the Imaginarium. The Imaginarium, now a part of the natural museum, is a science discovery center which offers interactive exhibits and displays.

The cost is another reason you should visit the museum. With all the exhibits and the fun you will have, a mere $5 will get any adult inside, while kids 6-12 get in for $3, and anyone under 5 are free.

6. El Dorado Gold Mine: One of the most unique adventures your children can go on, as they pan for gold and explore mine shafts that date back to early 1900's. While there, visitors can ride the Tanana Valley Railroad, included in a two hour tour that will take you through the permafrost tunnel.

7. Denali National Park & Reserve: The tallest peak in North America is Mount McKinley, and there is no better place to stay than in the Denali National Park. The park surrounds the massive mountain top giving the area a breathtaking view of the mountain and wild life.

Besides discovering nature, visitors can also learn more about the history and culture of the Denali National Park which includes collections, archeology, people of the land, and much more.

The entrance fee to the park is $10 per person or $20 per vehicle, and even though this is the most expensive of all sites in Alaska it is well worth the cost.
