Destination Guide: Great Puerto Rico Resorts

A Great Resort is the Key to a Great Vacation

William DuBose
Like most great travel destinations, the primary attraction is the place where you stay. In the Caribbean, these things are sometimes hit or miss. Most American travelers are scared to take a risk and prefer to stay and play at their favorite places or the most comfortable ones. This is probably smart because in many of the nations and islands, the security is not always the best and there could be some confusion over what services are to be rendered. In Puerto Rico, it is hard to get a bad catch if you stay at a big resort. Most of the places that the country features are great for travelers and they offer all of the things that travelers have come to expect in recent years.

The Wyndham San Juan Hotel and Casino is one of the favorites of many American travelers. Because it offers a five star atmosphere, you will have to pay a nice price to stay there, but in the end, most find that it is well worth the price. This Wyndham is located right in the heart of the country's capital city and gives a sense of coziness and some convenience. Here, you will find everything you need in one spot. There is not going out to find the best bars and places to hang. They are all right within the walls of the Wyndham. There are Las Vegas style shows and some of the best bar areas in the entire country. The main lobby is luxurious and the suites are some of the nicest around. The resort is expansive, sitting on almost twelve acres of some of the most beautiful country in the Caribbean. It connects, conveniently, with the beach and the entire city is at your disposal.

The Ponce Hilton and Casino is similar to the Wyndham in that it offers almost everything under one roof. These type of resorts are geared toward the younger tourists, who enjoy things like shows and high-stakes gambling. The resort sits nicely on an 80-acre garden and is the best thing going in the "second city" of Ponce. The two restaurants serve the island's best food and you should expect to be entertained from the minute you step foot there until the moment you leave. For a little over $200 per night, the resort will give you a great place to stay and a package to make sure you enjoy the entire weekend.

There are some other hotels that offer great service, but these two are the best ones in the two biggest cities. If you want a great time, do not hesitate to book a room and enjoy your time in Puerto Rico.
