Ski Beech advertises itself as "the highest ski area in Eastern North America". As such, its slopes hold a little bit of the majestic quality that comes with being so high up in the air. The slopes at Ski Beech are similar to what you might find at fellow Boone resort Sugar Mountain. They are not, however, anything to brag home about. Instead, the draw of this resort is that they are constantly offering specials of just about every kind. At Ski Beech, every day is a special day. For example, you will enjoy "Two for Tuesday" and "Men's Day Thursday". By offering the best prices in the area, Ski Beech ensures that you are getting enough bang for your buck.
Ski Beech features fifteen slopes, each of which offers something a little bit different to the skier. The White Lightning Run is by far the most popular run on the resort. There, you will tackle the challenge of black diamond run while enjoying some freedom of movement. Few people tackle this challenge, so if you are up to it, you may have the slope to yourself. Many of the slopes run on man-made snow because Boone does not receive the amounts of snow necessary to fully support a ski resort. This snow, however, is well made into good powder that makes the skiing very doable.
Ski Beech goes beyond skiing, as well. In addition to the fifteen slopes, they offer ice skating and complimentary lessons for beginners. The nursery service provided by the resort is also very popular among travelers who bring their youngest skiers along.
Ski Beech is a modest resort that appeals to the day-trip skier. For serious skiing, head out to Colorado or Wyoming. If you want to have a good, affordable time in a nice place, Ski Beech is a good spot to go. For the entirety of the winter and much of the spring, they will have ski specials to fit your needs.
