Snowshoe Mountain is located in central West Virginia. Unlike its primary competitor, Winterplace, Snowshoe is all about the skiing. Here, you will find almost sixty slopes, with each one offering a different challenge to skiers. Some of these slopes are difficult, including the famed Cupp Run. The longest trail in the resort at 1.5 miles, Cupp Run is almost its most challenging. It has been rebuilt in the last ten years to provide a great thrill for skiers. Among the other slopes, roughly half of them accommodate night skiing.
At Snowshoe, having great snow is rarely an issue. The snow falls pretty well during the winter months in this part of West Virginia. In the rare times when it is not falling, the resort retains 100% snowmaking capability. With that in mind, there will never be a bare ski slope that needs some powdered snow.
The Snowshoe Mountain Resort is about much more than skiing, though. While that may be its primary focus, Snowshoe recognizes that a resort must have other services in order to satisfy the customer. Because of this, Snowshoe Mountain offers 16 full-service restaurants and eight bars for customers to enjoy. Some of these restaurants are nicer than others, in order to provide options to all travelers. Travelers will also want to check out the indoor and outdoor pools that the resort features. While it might be too cold to frequent the outdoor pool, the warm jacuzzi may be a welcome sight to weary skiers. The resort offers both one bedroom and three bedroom style condominiums for your comfort.
At Snowshoe Mountain Resort, they make sure you have a great time. From the excellent skiing to the wonderful extras, this is one of the top ski resorts in the United States. Add in the fact that the price is affordable and the lifts always seem to be working and you get an unbeatable combination that attracts skiers from almost everywhere in the world.
