Destination Guide:Top Virgin Island Beaches

The Virgin Islands Have Great Beaches

William DuBose
The U.S. Virgin Islands are a popular tourist destination in the Caribbean. This is due largely to the fact that they have some of the region's top beaches. White sand and clear water are the things that people look for and in the U.S. Virgin Islands, there is plenty of that to go around.

Magens Bay Beach of St. Thomas is probably the area's most popular beach. If you head down to the U.S. Virgin Islands, expect this to be the most crowded beach you will see on your trip. This is due to the fact that everything is just about perfect. The sand is white and nice for sunbathing. The water is clear and remarkably calm. The area is frequented by many of the area's young travelers, making it even more popular among travelers. It is protected by a couple of peninsulas that protect it from the damaging winds and keep the surf calm enough to create a swimming pool that is second to none in the Virgin Islands.

Sandy Point, in St. Croix, is the largest of the islands in the Virgin Islands and is extremely popular in its own right. This area is beautiful and is located on the southwest end of the island. Here, you will find a high concentration of sea turtles, which are protected by the United States' government. Because of this fact, the beach is only open to the public on the weekends. Still, it is a nice spot for viewing these animals and for spending time in a wide open beach.

Cane Garden Bay in Tortola is also a very popular beach. Like the other mentioned beaches, it offers great white sand that keeps people coming back for more. Where Magens Bay Beach is the most popular beach in the U.S. Virgin Isles, Cane Garden Bay is easily the most popular in the British Virgin Islands. It is scenic and beautiful, with sand like sugar and water that is clear. This beach lies close enough to the British Virgin Islands' capital of Road Town to be very convenient to travelers.

The beaches of the Virgin Islands are the ultimate draw for this country as a tourist destination. They are blessed to have some of the whitest sand to go along with their clear water that makes them a clear choice as a popular place to be during every month. If you like fun in the sun, make a trip down to the Virgin Islands and enjoy yourself on the beach.
