Destination Truth 2010 Season Premiere the Best in the Show's History

Leprechauns and the Ghosts of Masada

Congratulations are in order for Syfy's Destination Truth. On March 17thDestination Truth's premiere received 2.2 million viewers, which listed the show 2nd for the entire day among cable programs for adults between the ages of 25-54.

The season premiere of Destination Truth started off with ghost hunting. Josh Gates and his team went to Israel to investigate rumors of ghosts at Masada Fortress. We see the team having fun in the water with a song from the Monkeys before they got down to business.

Josh Gates debunked the rumors of voices being heard from the fortress with the help of his teammates. Thanks to Josh's skepticism, he exposed that it was the reflection of echoes that people were hearing. However, not all the evidence and personal experiences could be debunked. Josh took his research to seasoned ghost hunters Jason and Grant for their expert analysis. There was one piece of footage that Jason and Grant were impressed with, but the other evidence was thrown out due to possible sound interference and blocked footage.

For the second part of Destination Truth, Josh Gates and his team went to Ireland to investigate the superstition of Leprechauns. Before they get down to business, Josh and his team enjoyed a couple of pints and passed out in the pub. Can't say that I blame them, ha. After the fun and games, Josh walks into a pub that claims to have bones of a dead Leprechaun. The owner won't let Josh take a sample for testing, but allows Josh to photograph the alleged remains of a Leprechaun. After the interview, Josh and his team investigated a wooded area that is known as a Leprechaun hang out and/or living space. Returning to the states with evidence in hand, Josh immediately has his findings analyzed. The steaming soil in the woods was nothing special and the Leprechaun remains are suspected to be chicken bones. Destination Truth struck out on this one, but it appears that was expected.

The 2010 season premiere of Destination Truth was very successful. Josh and his team collected paranormal evidence that Syfy's Ghost Hunters Jason and Grant were impressed with and finally dispelled the rumors of Leprechauns. Even though it was a good premiere, I hope Josh doesn't put too much focus on ghost hunting this season. Syfy already has three ghost hunting shows; they definitely don't need another one. Destination Truth is known for it's original content and historical research. I hate to see it swallowed up whole with other paranormal shows.
