I just returned from a recent visit to N.Y.C. for the third time. I was only there for two days but crammed as much sight seeing into those two days that was humanly possible! There is so much going on in the city and so many people in such a rush, if you don't have a tour guide to help you find what you're looking for it would be very easy to get lost. However, the city loves its tourists and has all sorts of things to help you during your trip.
When you're in the city, it's hard to miss the double decker N.Y.C. sight seeing tour buses going up and down the busy streets. These buses offer tourists many different packages to choose from. They have packages that let you ride the bus to all of the major attractions and get on and off as you please throughout the day. Some packages offer free passes to the Empire State Building and the State of Liberty. They have many destinations and amenities to choose from including Times Square, World Trade Center Site, Wall Street, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Central Park and numerous other stops. It's a great way to sit back and enjoy yourself sitting high on the top deck of the bus looking over the entire city without the hassle of dealing with the rush of people on the sidewalks. For those of you who appreciate the night life they also offer night time tours so that you can view the beautiful city lights!
If you like a bit of an adventure the city offers a Metro Pass for $7 which includes free subway and bus rides all day until 3 am! This option was our choice on our recent trip there. If you choose this option you want to make sure that you pick up a map of the city along with a subway map so that you know what buses and what subways to catch to your destinations. You will find yourself doing a lot of walking and I mean A LOT of walking if you choose this path, but some people prefer being out in the crowd. As you are walking around you can check out all of the street vendors and little shops along the way.
Before taking a trip to New York City I suggest that you do plenty of research online and find out which tour package you think is best for you unless you plan on using the Metro Pass and doing it yourself. New York City is a beautiful and wonderous place to visit and you want to make sure that you don't miss a thing!
