We spend our lives searching for the purpose and cause that gives our lives meaning. That search often includes the ideology of what we should be dictated by today's society. Our thought life is often filled with standards set for us by other people.
Our destiny gets lost within the battlefield going on inside our minds. One particular battle we have going on within ourselves is the act of comparisons. This toxic tendency pulls us away from out God given potential and gives way to negative thoughts such as jealousy and spitefulness. They more you continue to let comparisons control your thoughts; you will become unhappy with your own life.
2. "You were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within you. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as you let your own light shine, you unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As you are liberated from your own fear, your presence automatically liberates others." Nelson Mandela.
A significant aspect of our destiny is the lingering effect we have on people after we are long gone. In neglecting ourselves, we take on the role of a martyr. In other words we often put everyone first while we neglect our bodies, our mind and spirit. When we walk upright in courage and faith, we illuminate grace which those around us will surely notice.
3. "Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny." Frank Outlaw.
Believe it or not, there is power in the words we speak. Words are a key to our destiny. The trick is to be confident without being arrogant. Arrogance compromises your character, and will have a negative impact on those around you. I believe greatness can be released from the words we speak. On the flip side of that; disappointment and regrets can be the result of our words.
Finally, life will often challenge us to do something we never dreamed of doing before. A disciplined mind will help us reach the destiny meant for our lives. Having our eyes fixed on our goals and not falling victim to disappointments and set backs will assure us of our God given destiny.
