The Tigers and Comerica Park are here to help baseball fans save a bit of cash while out for a night of fun at the ballpark. Among the deals that are offered at the park are an adult meal that includes a drink, hot dog, and chips for $5. This is a bargain considering that normally a hot dog at most sporting events costs $3, chips can range between $1.50 and $2.00, and a medium drink can range from $2.50 to $3.00. Besides the adult value meals, Comerica Park offers a kids value meal as well which includes a hot dog, chips, drink and a PAWS finger puppet. For those unfamiliar with the Detroit Tigers, PAWS is the Tigers mascot. The kids meal is also offered for $5, and both can be purchased at any Big League Grill concession stand in the stadium.
Besides the adult and kids value meals fans can find another bargain in Big Cat Court. Big Cat Court is located near the center of the stadium and offers fans a variety of food options, including a couple of ethnic choices. Among your choices between regular stadium fare like hot dogs, pretzels, and elephant ears, are Chinese and Mexican food. The Chinese food offered is reasonably priced. Two of your options at the Chinese food stand are Fried Rice and Sweet and Sour Chicken which are offered in two sizes. The smaller of the two offerings is sold for $4 and is served in a small traditional Chinese take out container.
If you like to imbibe while watching baseball and you enjoy fruity drinks you may want to give the Daiquiri stand a try. While beer at the ballpark can range between $6 and $8 depending on whether you are buying draft or a bottle or can, the daiquiri's are $9 and are served in a tall souvenir plastic glass. I believe that this is your best deal when it comes to alcoholic beverages at the ball park considering that the container it comes in is about 18 inches tall.
The Tigers not only offer fans deals on food and drinks at the ball park, they also offer discounted prices on tickets as well. There are tickets available for $5, $12, and $22 depending on seating location for every Tigers home game during the 2009 season. Fans may park at Tigers owned lots for $5 as well.
So if you are looking for a relatively inexpensive night out a local sporting event in Detroit give the Detroit Tigers and Comerica Park a try.
