Devastation

Poem by Jay Crider

Jay Crider
Locked within' my hearts walls of criminal steel and concrete,
my queerish self falls into a straight laced canyon.

Full on the battered beauty along its jagged rocks
my contaminated soul is left captured.

Tripping in a world of lost ecstasy
I find attraction few and far between
as a caravan of desire attempts to corrupt my senses.
Leaving me longing for an infinite touch.

When it all seemed to be more than just a state of preludes,
a loveless fascination,
took an inexcusable obligation,
of uneven proportions,
and fed upon my extinct hunger;
thus, leaving me feeling bitter and sweet.
