How good are you at talking with others? Would you say you are good or bad at it? There are steps you have to take in order to become good. You will learn how to improve your conversational skills.

First Way: It is essential to be engaging. You need to have fun and be able to help make your discussion flow smoothly.

Second Way: You cannot always wait for others to get something going. It is sometimes up to you to say something first.

Third Way: It is good to ask questions. One reason for this is it will help you get to know others better. Another is it will show others you have an interest in what they are saying.

Fourth Way: You must not be argumentative. Although it is good to have debates, you should not go back and forth indefinitely with someone over something or accuse him or her of lying or being wrong. If you do, you can cause friction and strain your relationships.

Fifth Way: It is a good idea to use humor, whenever it is suitable. You can get something exciting going by telling jokes or saying something that should elicit a laugh.

Sixth Way: You need to frequently laugh. This is a good way to lighten things up and make it a joy for others to speak with you.

Seventh Way: It is important to use good eye contact most of the time. By doing this, you will make it easier for others to trust you.

Eighth Way: Being able to make small talk is a useful skill. You can achieve this by making casual remarks about something such as the weather.

Ninth Way: You have to actually listen to others. It would be rude to interrupt them while they are speaking.

Tenth Way: It is essential to not be judgmental. You might not score points with others if you say they are at fault or you jump to a conclusion before you have heard their full story.

Eleventh Way: You must apologize when you have done something wrong. This will help make someone stop ranting at you. Plus, this will make it easier for him or her to forgive and have fun with you.

Twelfth Way: You must become trustworthy. It is easy to talk with those you trust.

Thirteenth Way: You need to find the right people. You can get better by practicing with those who are talkative.
