In the vast City of Los Angeles the Los Angeles Unified School District serves 21 smaller cities besides it's namesake, adding-up to 750,000 students! Several of the District's high schools are in perpetual states of conflict between the various cultures of the student population. Confrontations between individual students erupt into mass fighting between groups during lunch breaks; this happens so often that there are police stations on the high school grounds. The LASUD has a fully-equipped police force with over a hundred officers, police cars and even a motorcycle contingent.

Los Angeles Mayor Antonio V+11 recently pushed-through a bill in the California State Legislature that placed him in control of the LAUSD. His own children attend private schools because he says "We want them to have a religious education." He could be thinking We want them to back safely from school everyday as every parent does.

Business people look at this situation and see a need for education alternatives in these areas of Los Angeles. As they prepare business plans to offer beleagured parents a choice of schools in these neighborhoods by forming Charter Schools, who do they consult first? Textbook publishers to see what the latest offerings are? Psychology of Learning professors at the state university for the latest in learning theories? The answer is a law firm that specializes in forming Charter Schools and dealing with school district officials.

It can take several years for Charter Schools to be approved by the state government education agency. In the meantime, parents have the right to Home School their children. It takes a considerable commitment of money, and perhaps more importantly, time to meet the requirements for home schooling.

Associated content writer Dreahwrites depends on the Internet for her home schooling resources, other parents may want a more structured learning environment that the book Creative Home Schooling" A Resourse Guide For Smart Families by Lisa Rivero provides information on, at this text link:

The local school district's administration is the agency that supervises the home schooled children in it's area, so you will have to learn how to follow the regulations without varying from them. If you have ever had any dealings with the Department of Motor Vehicles in California over a simple thing like the renewal of a driver's license you will know that you are in for a frustrating time. Perhaps this is by design, like the telephone communications company Verizon not having a human Customer Service representative answer the 1-800 number that they print on all the bills they mail out.
