Developing an Image of Sophistication

You're a sophisticated man and you want to show that side of yourself to the world. Since you are so sophisticated and full of depth people often see you more as weird than they do as intelligent, handsome and with great skills. It might be more of your image and the way you talk versus who you are.

Impression of Sophistication is Key:

You might have all of these experiences, be an accomplished person and have excellent breeding. However, you don't display yourself as a sophisticated person because of your language, mannerisms, and clothing. People see you more as a ditch digger than something special.

For example, as a country boy who served in the military I have become somewhat sophisticated as I am just about finished with my doctorate, work as a professional, teach as a professor, and run my own business. The only problem is that I don't look that sophisticated.

Your Values Affect Your Image of Sophistication:

The problem a country boy faces in the city is that he grew up in one world and lives in another. The country boy's culture is based on an agricultural society that requires people to get along in small communities. Acting special is frowned upon because people know where you came from. In the city everything is reversed. When you are in the city that same simpleness that was wonderful in your small town now makes you look uneducated, ignorant and unprofessional. They view you as not being sophisticated.

Tips for Improving the Image of Sophistication:

If you want to improve your impression you have to make some changes in the way you dress, what you talk about and how you talk. This can be difficult if you have a background that doesn't fit within your current environment. However, sophistication is attractive to females that are looking for the best overall partner.

1.) Dress Well: Dress as a sophisticated professional. Those 20 year old suits just don't do it anymore. Go to an upper end store and ask them to dress you. They will help you find the image you are looking for. It works for ignorant people like me.

2.) Talk With Certainty: Don't just blurt out the first thing that comes to your mind. Talk a little bit slower, with better pronunciation and with a reflective tone. Women think this is a sign of intelligence.

3.) Change the Subject: You might like to talk about gardening but this may not help you get the girls. Talk about things that are of interest in the city like movies, clubs and especially famous people. You may get away with a little sports talk if your not boring your partner.
