Developing Pride in Culture: Minority Youth Groups Share Their Voices

In truth, minority groups need to have more than financial support. Each minority group need to feel as if they belong in the world with recognition from majority leaders. More so, the minorities need leaders among themselves who will address issues facing their communities. There is a Hispanic Youth Leadership institute who was introduced to legislative and political issues facing the Latin community. This institute helps them learn to debate, be a citizen and think as a leader. The youth learns to embrace their culture instead view it as a negative. This idea has gathered more than two hundred members of the Latin community.

This same program can be expanded to deal with issues that separate people. It can be a Community Youth Leadership Institute where the youth can make field trips to speak with political figures such as Condoleeza Rice, President Bush, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton and more. The dilemma of violence among the youth is a terrible problem that the youth should discuss together. Since the massacres are carried out in educational settings the students know the inside issues that could spark discussion among youth. Students know how students are treated as well we their own thoughts of tolerance.

These thoughts are natural when it comes to the lifestyle and oral tales taught by people close to them. It is important for the youth to unite in order to face the issues of the world. The adults who made a mess of things will not live to fix it. Therefore, it is the responsibility of our youth to speak out on issues pertaining to the youth in our country. For instance, the youth can share with us what is in the minds of most youth. We can learn what drives them to make the decisions they do, and to feel the way they do.

It would be more in depth than what adults can surmise about the youth today. Not only are there peer pressure issues, but issues facing people by culture. There is too much to think about in this life. Our youth will must be taught to be leaders instead of followers in order to provide a better future. The biggest problem in the world today besides disease is hate.

Hate forces people to separate into their own groups, and not trust a living soul. Hate is the fear that someone will get ahead, and making the first move to hold people back. The world can improve with massive participation the easy way. It is a decision that depends on all of us to achieve merely by the desire for change.

The purpose of this youth institute is to give the youth of today hope and aspiration toward the future. The more these youths understand about how politics works they can learn where to get help for their communities. Moreover, these youth can learn to assist their people in progressing to higher heights. Each minority group can no longer be burdens for the majority to take care of, but to stand by their side as capable knowledgeable citizens. We all need the same chances and encouragement, so no cultural group will be left behind. This institute can help people learn to have faith in themselves and seek to make their lives more liveable. America is the land of opportunities for all of us, and we should take a leap of faith and dive right into what we want for ourselves.
