Devotional Matrix Math Bible Lesson Two: The First Miracle

Water into Wine John 2:1-11

Dr. Phillip Clark
Verse 1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother Of Jesus was there:

Verse 2 And both Jesus (the first-born son of Mary,) was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

Verse 3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. (Note: The eldest son was responsible for provisions of the wedding responsibilities). (Note: the word wine have at least nine Hebrew words and two Greek words describing wine and it's type. Hebrew words for wine are, Yayin=yields wine; Tyrosh=vintage fruitation, new wine, Sobe; Asis=grape juice; Hemer= pure red wine, Mimsach=mixed wine; Shekar=strong, Hemez=vinegar, sour wine. Greek: Ashishah=dried raisins, Shemarim, posca, gleukos new wine). Matthew 9:17 Oinos neos new wine into old wine skins. (Note: Jesus had no raisins, nor stored his new wine in any storage for full fermentation, but used water, now that's a miracle, the miracle for provisions. The wine provision is the responsibility of the eldest son. However Jesus was a guest when his mother cornered him into providing liquid catering. It was free delivery). (This is the only location of the miracle of the water into wine in any of the four gospels).

Verse 4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? (In other words why come to me, what do you expect me to do about it?)

Verse 5 She saith unto the servants, whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

Verse 6 And there were set there six water-pots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkin a piece. (Note: The six water-pots were for the guests to wash parts of their bodies for the ceremony and the feast. The water-pots were wash basins. The water basin pots could hold fifteen to thirty gallons of water each. Jesus asked them to fill all six water-pots).

Quiz: Say if one cup of water holds 8 ounces of fluid, and 8X8 ounces=2quarts, and 2X2 quarts=1 gallon=How many cups in one gallon?_________ Then imagine one 30 gallon water-pot providing=_________cups of wine. Then you can provide _____________ cups of water-wine).

Verse 7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the water-pots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. (Note: Filled to the brim).

Verse 8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
(Note: Jesus said, #1 Fill, #2 Draw out, and #3 bear unto the governor, an official endorser of the feast and the wine. The producer/manager/organizer of the feast was to authenticate that is was wine).

The instructions to your miracle is faith. Faith is an action word. Fill, draw, and bear. When your healing miracle happens you need to visit your physician to have a check-up so the healing can be confirmed and authenticated.

Verse 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom.

Verse 10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

Verse 11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
