Devotional Momentum: The Friend

Dr. Phillip Clark
Friend:

Proverbs 17:16-18

Wherefore is there price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it? Verse 17 A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. Verse 18 A man void of understanding striketh hands, and becometh surety in the presence of his friend.

Micah 7:5-7

Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom. Verse 6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. Verse 7 Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

John 15:12-15

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. Verse 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Verse 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Verse 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

I John 4:4

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
