Devotional Momentum: Lesson One the Messiah and the New Covenant

The Mission of the Messiah, the Prophetic Messenger

Dr. Phillip Clark
Jeremiah 31:31-34
Behold, the days will come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Verse 32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:

Verse 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Verse 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, know the LORD; for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Fulfilled:

Matthew 26:26-30

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, Verse27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;

Verse 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Verse 29 But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

Verse 30 And when they had sung an hymn, they went out unto the mount Olives.

(Note: In Jeremiah 31 The LORD promises four things; #1 A New Israel, #2 A New Agreement or Covenant, #3 He will never forsake Israel, and #4 a New Jerusalem. Our topic today is the New Covenant. Jesus established communion for the practice of His remembrance for the Christian modern day church. Some serve communion every Sunday or Saturday, certain Sunday's, or a Sunday in every other month, whatever the case may be the reason for communion is for the individual and the church congregation collectively should remember the four promises of God. Plus this New Covenant now extends to the Gentile believers until the coming of the LORD, then we will sup with him in the kingdom at the kingdom supper).

The promise of the new covenant provides no more killing of sacrifices. Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice. No more written laws of tablets, but the Holy Spirit to guide us from sin and seal us unto the day of redemption. Eph 4:30. He promised His death on the cross, the nails in His hands, the piercing in His side, and the shedding of His blood all because of former prophecies describing the Messiah, King of the Jews. The Sacrificial Lamb of God, the only one who could remove the seven seals from the scroll at the end-times. Revelation 5:1-14. Oh Hallelujah! I feel like shouting and taking a run! Oh the Lamb of God..........! Oh Hallelujah!

Jesus the sinless Man. Jesus promised to bare our sins at the Last Supper. Jesus knew he was the Messiah to die for our sins once and for all. Jesus was bruised and by whose stripes WE ARE HEALED. Oh Great God my hairs are on their ends....... Praise God! I've lived by His stripes for decades. I have seen the BACKSIDE of the cross and it's bare. But behold for any cross why have they removed it from our churches? I saw the Federal government remove the largest cross in that state and replaced it with a flag. That's OK to. For with out God the striped flag that we know of today wouldn't exist. The heavens and the earth would be exterminated before anyone could remove God from the face of the earth. This is God's world and it's His footstool. Remember that song, He's got the whole world in His hand? We used to sing it in school. You can't remove God from the earth.

By His stripes WE ARE HEALED. Jesus promised healing. By His death he became the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls. He paid the ransom. He paid the price to judge the quick and the dead in the last days. At the end-time Jesus Christ is Lord. Some don't recognize it because some already need eye glasses. Some can't recognize if it's going to rain or drizzle. Follow the Lamb of God who holds the words of eternal life.

Jesus became glorified with His electrified photocopied resurrection. Jesus became the Chief Shepherd because He earned it. He fulfilled prophecy at the communion table by faith. Healing in every way.

Jesus promised a New Covenant of the Blood.

(Note: Jeremiah 31:31 There was a time when Israel was divided into two parts, the North and South kingdoms. So the prophecy was for both kingdoms of Israel and both kings).
