There are many reasons why a coach would choose Dewanna Bonner .She has been a fan's favorite every since her freshman year at Auburn. She had an immediate impact upon the tiger's woman's basketball program. Bonner's height and slim build didn't stop her ability to take slice to the basket and score on her opponents. Her stats are also dramatic. The winner of two gold medals with team USA and the 2008-09 player of the year award, she has expanded her game and can play five positions. In her senior year, she averaged over 25 points per game as well as dominated in steals, block shots, and double-doubles.
The WNBA team that drafts her will benefit immediately from her most important asset: her unusual height as a guard. Firstly, it will be very hard for other players to guard her. At 6'4 she can shoot over the most skilled players. Because of her long reach, teams will not be able to block her shot. This makes her very dangerous. She will be able to score at will against many teams. With her long wing span she will be able to block many shots, high and low. Other guards will experience nightmares while trying to stop her. She's the kind of player coaches dream about. There has never been a 6'4 guard in the history of the wnba.
There is something great about the concept of uniqueness. It has a certain curiosity that makes people wonder. This curiosity has the potential to attract new fans to the WNBA Therefore the WNBA team that selects Dewanna Bonner will have a unique team product for fans to enjoy. Her teams that will make other teams fear. While teams are busy trying to discover ways to stop her, her team mates will be able to score inside and out. Because she can play every position, her skill and versatile will wreck havocs other team players.
Dewanna Bonner's ability to produce in five positions makes her extremely valuable. She will make any team better right away. She fulfills all needs. If a team needs a center, small forward, power forward, or guard, she will be able to step into anyone of these positions and perform increasingly well. If a team already has good players to fulfill these positions, adding Bonner will only deepen the arsenal of that team. Basketball fans around the world will enjoy watching this skillful athlete. Her uniqueness will attract many, not only because of her height as a guard, but also because of the curiosity surrounded her very thin frame. Many will wonder weather or not she can endure contact with the bigger, much stronger players in the league. But her skill and quick adjustment to pro level basketball will amaze them. She also captivated them when she arrived on the campus of Auburn University nearly four years ago. She is the beginning of a legacy.
