Moisturize
To keep skin looking soft and fresh, you need to moisturize each night with a rich cream. A few times each week, gently slough off dead skin cells with a polishing brush or sponge prior to washing your skin, then seal in moisture with a quality night cream. Since you won't be using much makeup, you need your skin to look as clean and dewy as possible before adding products.
Illuminate
If you want to use moisturizer before adding foundation, choose a tinted formula that offers nourishment without feeling too heavy on the skin. Before you add the moisturizer, add a highlighting cream or primer to face to create sheen. If you are using a highlighter, dab it on areas of the face that attracts the most light, such as the brow bone, cheekbones and chin. A primer can be applied to the entire face for all-over, subtle illumination. Add the moisturizer over the illuminating products to keep your skin looking dewy throughout the day, not shiny.
Foundation
Dab foundation onto the face around the chin, cheeks and forehead. Spread the foundation to the rest of the face using a brush or sponge until it is evenly applied to the skin. Once your foundation is in place, apply a small amount of concealer to trouble areas '" such as redness around the nose or dark circles under the eyes. Apply the concealer with a small brush, and pat into the trouble areas for complete coverage.
Shimmer Powder
Add a shimmer blush to the apples of the cheeks, or use a bronzing powder to illuminate other areas of the face, such as the brow bone or along the cheekbones, near your temples. Keep the illumination evenly placed over your face, so add some shimmering powder to the center of your forehead, lightly down the nose and on the chin. Once you're done illuminating your face, finish off with your favorite lip gloss and a swipe of mascara.
Looking fresh and dewy during the warmer months is simple and only takes a few minutes to complete the look. If you want to take the look from day to night, simply add eyeliner and use a bolder lip color. Dewy skin is a perfect summer staple, and with proper care and a few products, anyone can obtain the look.
