Episode 4.3: "Blinded by the Light"

Dexter is stuck in the hell of the neighborhood backyard barbecue. Rita chooses this moment to phone his doctor from the ER and finds out the truth about his concussion. She takes over again, insisting that she will drive Dexter for the next several days, as he was supposed to not drive for at least 10 days. Meanwhile, the neighbors discuss the neighborhood vandal who has been destroying property for the last several weeks. They decide to start up a neighborhood watch, so that no one gets in nor out without being noticed. The family life is causing yet another barrier to Dexter's Dark Passenger.

Trinity now has the mother he had been stalking in episode 4.2. He takes her to an abandoned warehouse and goes up to the top floor. He tells her that she needs to let go and fall, committing suicide. He refuses to push her, making it her decision. Miami Metro shows up to investigate, and rules it a suicide. Lundy, of course, is highly suspicious that it is the work of Trinity and guides Debra in the directions she should be looking. Anton starts getting suspicious. LaGuerta is tired of Debra listening to Lundy, especially when the death is ruled a suicide, and warns her to pay attention

LaGuerta and Batista go out together on the Vacation Murders case, as they are seeking the suspect that Dexter found, Johnny Rose. They take their time getting there, going for a long leisurely lunch and a little afternoon delight. Shots are fired upon their arrival at Rose's girlfriend's apartment, leading to questions being asked. They have to account for the time they were gone, and find themselves being pulled closer together.

Lundy starts opening up more to Dexter, revealing more about himself as well as shedding light on the Trinity murders. Dexter begins to understand even better, and notices more and more similarities between himself and Trinity.

Quinn and Dexter have a face-off that makes Quinn even more bitter toward him. So Quinn starts spouting venom when hanging out with his reporter girlfriend.

Dexter gets himself into trouble when he tries to pin the neighbor boy Andy as the neighborhood vandal. He discovers that Andy's father is the one who has actually been doing all of it, and the two get into a scuffle. Dexter scares him into leaving the neighborhood. On his way home, he smashes the obnoxious security light on the neighbor's house, while Rita watches.
