DFW is brimming with activities and events in the fall. But unless you know what, when, and where the events are you'll miss out on some spectacular sights and loads of fun.

If you'd like to enjoy the variety of entertainment DFW has to offer this fall you've come to the right place. Below is a list of DFW fall events you won't want to miss.

DFW Fall Events: Great Fountain Plaza Festival - in Richardson TX

The Great Fountain Plaza festival is held in Richardson on September 12th. It's hosted at the Richardson Civic center. There are lots of games, activities, and prizes for kids to take part in, and even a Jr. Rainforest Safari show the kids will love.

The Richardson Community Band will perform near the end of the festival. The festival begins at 11:00AM and will be over at 6:00PM. For more information about the Great Fountain Plaza Festival, visit the link listed under resources at the end of this article.

DFW Fall Events: Addison Oktoberfest - in Addison TX

If you love German food, fun, and beer you'll want to attend the Addison Texas Oktoberfest. There will be live music, delicious sausages, sauerkraut and other great food, and entertainers dressed in German costumes.

DFW Fall Events: GrapeFest - in Grapevine TX

At the GrapeFest you'll get to enjoy live music, savor many different festival foods, and taste signature wines. There's also a grape stomp, culinary pavilion, and a carnival. The GrapeFest is tons of fun and lasts from September 17th to September 20th.

DFW Fall Events: Balloon Festival - in Plano TX

A sky full of hot air balloons, thirty plus giant balloons glowing in the night, fried snickers bars, turkeys legs, and funnel cakes. You can't miss the Plano Texas Balloon Festival. There's live music, souvenir booths, and tons of different foods to eat. There's also other entertainment that goes on throughout the festival on different days.

The Plano balloon festival begins on the 18th of September and ends on the 20th. It's the perfect festival to finish off the summer and bring in the fall.

DFW Fall Events: The State Fair of Texas - Dallas TX

The biggest fall event in DFW is the State Fair of Texas. It hosts everything you'd want in a fair. Fair foods, carnival rides, excellent shows and parades, as well as games and a sand and butter sculpture. You'll also be able to taste wines and enjoy some of your favorite beers. The State Fair of Texas begins September 25th and lasts until October 18th. There's plenty of time to head out there and enjoy the fair, so don't miss out.

DFW Fall Events: Cottonwood Art Festival - in Richardson TX

The Cottonwood Art Festival is very popular with the locals. It's held twice a year in Richardson at Cottonwood Park, once in the spring and once in the fall.

Rows and rows of artist's booths line the park. You'll see paintings, sculptures, jewelry, music, and so much more. There's also a food and drink area set up in the park where you can enjoy a meal with some wine or beer and listen to live music.

Across the bridge there's a children's arts and crafts area. There are also food and drink vendors set up around the park where you can get hot dogs, corn on the cob, cotton candy, roasted almonds, lemonade, sodas, and ice tea.

There's plenty to do and see at the Cottonwood Art Festival and it will be held on October 3rd and 4th.

There's a lot going on in DFW to bring in the fall. Whether you enjoy wine, art, rides, or great festival food, there's an event for you. Many of the events are free and others a minimal fee for a huge amount of fun. So don't be bored this fall, check out the DFW fall events.
