DFW Pug Rescue Has Critical List for Rescue Dogs

Max, age 8, needs to see the neurologist to determine why his back legs are not working properly and to see if treatment or surgery is needed ($1,200 plus).

Pookie, another male, needs a test for Cushings Disease which is $250.00.

Mandy needs both eyes removed, has a collapsing trachea, and needs heartworm treatment, which totals $500 plus.

Miss Chloe, a sweet, elderly female with chronic ear infections and tumors in her ears needs $500 plus for her medical bills.

And Tucker has a mast cell tumor that needs to be removed and x-rays to determine the cause of his abnormal gait. The cost is $500 plus.

"The time has come that DFW Pug Resuce needs a safe, secure facility where we can house these precious pugs while they are awaiting adoption," states Fred Campos, DFW Pug Rescue Director. "We are a non-profit 501©(3) IRS code so all donations are tax deductible."

In unrelated pet news, in Boston, Massachusetts, an Angell Benchmarks Program through MSPCA-Angell has been launched in memory of Elisabeth Endicott Weil, who passed away in 2009. When Weil passed away her husband Henry said that her last cat was so attached to her that the feline lay next to her for two hours after her death purring and now sleeps in her chair.

Since Weil's widower Henry wanted to find a way to honor her love for animals through the MSPCA, the creation of the Angell Benchmark's program, which allows donors to honor or remember beloved animals with a plaque that will be installed on the seated areas in Angell's waiting rooms was born.

"On Dec. 21, 2010, Mr. Weil and members of his family joined MSPCA-Angell President Carter Luke Dr. Douglas Brum (who had cared for Elisabeth's cat), and members of the MSPCA-Angell Development team to unveil the Benchmark in memory of Elisabeth," a press release stated.
