"Brahma-faring is lived for the goal
of restraint, for the goal of
abandoning, for the goal of
dispassion, for the goal of
making to cease."

Restraint of the senses leads one to neutral karma. This is the making of neither good or bad, but "just being." The abandonment of this world, samsara or mara, which is just an illusion is our goal. Like a sponge floating in water, we are the droplets of water within the sponge. Will we choose to fall back into the ocean of God, or will we be desiccated by mara? We must become dispassionate about this world and merge with the One. Our goal is to cause ego to cease. Realizing we are God and nothing else.
