Diabetes Leads to Many Complications

Diabetes, a life threatening disease, if not treated properly can lead to many complications affecting vital organs.

The most common types of diabetes -Type 1 and Type 2 can lead to renal failure, cardiac arrests, blindness, stroke and several other complications.

Nephropathy is a major complication that is seen in diabetic patients. Nephropathy is the inability to filter toxins from the blood stream. Diabetes can also lead to blockade of blood vessels, which results in various cardio problems, blood pressure and even stroke.

The most dangerous one is the type 1 Diabetes that can lead to diabetic coma, a state of unconsciousness. Diabetes can also cause numbness, a state where a person does not have any feelings.

Only a few complications are discussed here. Well, proper treatment and care goes a long way in controlling diabetes and preventing further complications.
