Food For Life
It is called "Ezekiel Bread" and is from the bakery "Food For Life". These are sprouted grain breads, some of which are low glycemic, some are gluten free, some are yeast free and some are wheat free breads. It seems that just about anyone, regardless of their dietary needs, can find a bread that will be compatible with their needs. Please note that only the breads, cereals, and pastas in the orange wrappers are for diabetics and carry the claim of a low glycemic index.
These breads, cereals, and pastas can be purchased in many health food stores as well as some grocery stores. We are able to buy ours from Kroger Foods in the middle Tennessee area. Printed clearly on the loaf of bread is this scripture which tells how the bread got its name: "Take also unto thee Wheat, and Barley, and beans, and lentils, and millet, and Spelt, and put them in one vessel, and make bread of it..." Ezekiel 4:9
Ezekiel 4:9 Bread (in the orange wrapper) is made from sprouted 100% whole grain. It has no trans fats and is a complete protein bread. This bread is all natural and preservative free. And, it is sugar free! The glycemic index on Ezekiel Bread is 36, which makes it especially good for diabetics. Most other "sugar free" breads taste more like cardboard, but Ezekiel Bread is very good! It is especially good when lightly toasted. The toasting seems to really enhance that whole grain flavor. The bread should be kept refrigerated because it has no preservatives to retard spoilage.
