Diabetic Master Cleanse

The master cleanse is a lemonade diet that reports claims of weight loss over two pounds a day. Celebrities like Beyonce Knowles have reportedly used the master cleanse diet to quickly get rid of pounds. The diet is serious business involving, basically, a fast for about a month ingesting only lemonade, cayenne pepper, and maple syrup.

Still despite the grueling nature of the master cleanse many diabetic patients want to try it in order to reap the weight loss benefits. There are some precautions that a diabetes patient should take when doing the master cleanse and one of the biggest is talking to your doctor before undertaking the program. There are actually some changes that you can make to the master cleanse itself to make it more diabetic safe.

The big problem with doing the master cleanse diet is using maple syrup. Because maple syrup is such a disaster for diabetics it's important to replace it with agave nectar. The idea is the same as the original master cleanse except replacing the maple syrup with agave nectar.

Agave has the benefit of being fructose base which benefits with an extremely low glycemic count. Finding the purest agave extracts will yield the best results. Make sure to check the ingredient list and the glycemic count before buying it.

The other option you have is to use molasses as an alternative to maple syrup. Molasses is a good alternative to anything with sugar. Since molasses is easily used by the body it doesn't raise the blood sugar much at all. It's necessary to still start off carefully with molasses however.

Try starting with just a spoonful of molasses a day. Then proceed to move on to two then three spoonfuls of molasses. This should be done slowly over a period of three days to give your body time to adapt to the new substance.

This diet has more benefits than just weight loss however. The diet can also clean and purify the glands and cells that encompass the entire body. The diet helps you build a healthy a blood stream, and cleanse the kidneys and digestive system. It's true that as many people use this condition for weight loss, just as many use it for chronic and acute conditions that inhibit their life, with good results.

This diet takes a large amount of dedication to finish but the results speak for themselves.
