After years of speculation, and a week's worth of wondering at what Blizzard's mysterious splash pages on their websites was all about, Blizzard Entertainment has finally announced the development of their newest game, Diablo III. With a new website launched, anticipation is already building for the latest installment of the hugely successful Diablo franchise. Stunning new 3D graphics will make this game a welcome upgrade to the popular line of games.

What can we expect?
Although the details are sparse now, Blizzard has already begun leaking the information they want us to have about what's coming back that we've loved from the old games, and what new twists we can expect from the release of Diablo III.

Character classes
Returning to this installment of Diablo is the Barbarian class. Old favorites like Leap and Whirlwind are back in the dual-wielding Barbarian's arsenal, as well as new talents like Seismic Slam and Ground Stomp. The Barbarians will be the all out brute force of the Diablo III world.

New to the Diablo timeline is the Witch Doctor class. Not much is known about how this class will play out, but we are given a glimpse into the Witch Doctor's talents, with video clips of Firebomb, Horrify, Locust Swarm, Mass Confusion and Soul Harvest being displayed on the Witch Doctor landing page.

Players will be able to choose from 3 other (as of yet) unannounced character classes, and will be able to make a character of either gender for all classes.

Battle.net is back
Following along with the tremendous online success of Diablo 2, Diablo III will be run on Battle.net, allowing collaborative play online with thousands of other characters, as well as the ability to play the game as a stand alone solo game.

Blizzard has only given us the tiniest taste of what's to come with the announcement, with many details still being kept top secret. But with Blizzard's tremendous amount of fanfare from this announcement, we can be sure that more technical details, as well as the remaining character classes and much more will be released over the coming months.
