So why in the world did I buy the new Dial Eco-Smart Refill to put in my soap pumps? This new product fails all my criteria. I am a sucker for packaging. I was also at the wrong store at the moment I decided I had to have hand soap. The good news is the packaging uses 67% less plastic than bottle refills which translates to not filling up the landfills as quickly. Dial Eco-Smart Refill uses 86% less materials, transportation, and fuel.
The bag is very easy to use. I just open the cap or easy pour spout and pour it into my pump. It doesn't spill and is actually a little easier to use than bottles. The bag is flexible. On the one hand I find it clumsy to hold and on the other not as clumsy as a large plastic refill. This 40 ounce bag will fill a Dial sized pump five times.
I chose the White Tea & Vitamin E hand soap with moisturizer. It smells absolutely wonderful without being over powering. The Dial soap is a white, clear liquid that cleans my hands well and rinses off easily. I can't really attest to its moisturizing effects because I haven't used harsh abrasive soap in years.
The ingredients are Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Acrylates Copolymer, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside, Glycerin, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E Acetate), PEG-18 Glyceryl Oleate/Cocoate, Camellia Sinensis (White Tea) Leaf Extract, Panthenol, Mineral Oil, Fragrance, Propylene Glycol, Gelatin, Acacia Senegal Gum, Xanthan Gum, Cocamide MEA, DMDM Hydantoin, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Ext. Violet 2 Dialsoap
Eco-Smart Refill also comes in antibacterial hand soaps with moisturizer in two "flavors." One is Pomegranate & Tangerine and Gold. The other non antibacterial Refill is Aloe.
Dial liquid hand soap is meant for your hands rather than on the face or body. Dial does make bars and body washes for the other parts of you.
Will I buy it again?
I don't see myself buying Dial Eco-Smart Refill again. It would mean I would go out of my way to look for it and for me I would rather go out of my way to look for something that I feel may not be hurting me. However, if you don't have the same rules I do this is a nice package and a wonderfull smelling non-bacterial soap.

Post a CommentGreat work. Gonna share this around! ;)
thanks so much for sharing this piece with us. I just might go out and buy the stuff for myself.
"The following companies manufacture products that ARE tested on animals" Dial is on the list. It is possible that Henkel makes products that aren't tested but Dial is and there is nothing on the label that says otherwise. Dial Corp. is on all the lists of companies who do test on animals.
I know for a fact that Dial does not test on animals. They are part of Henkel of Germany that consistently wins awards in ethics and sustainability.
