Diamond Chips

Diamond chips are everywhere.

The laughter of a child.

A soft, furry kitten.

An active, fuzzy puppy.

A song that stirs emotions and memories.

A favorite movie and a bowl of popcorn.

Dewdrops in a spider's web.

A bouquet of freshly picked flowers.

The warmth of an open fire.

The warmth of an open heart.

The sound of a waterfall rushing past your ears.

The crackling of a campfire beneath moonlight.

Looking for constellations

Counting the stars.

Counting blessings, of which there are more than stars.

Roasting marshmallows.

Telling ghost stories on Halloween night.

A meadow of daffodils.

The shelter of a gazebo in the rain.

A favorite sweatshirt.

Dinner for two by candlelight.

Dancing by the light of the moon.

Chewing the staple of a wild honeysuckle.

Cold winter nights spent cuddling beneath warm fuzzy blankets.

Sunset on an Autumn day.

A perfect, cloudless sunrise.

The first baseball game of Summer.

Kissing the cheek of a sleeping child.

Reading a bedtime story.

Teaching someone to read.

Eating ice cream and watching fireworks.

A porch swing on a Spring afternoon.

A red wagon.

The scent of a cedar Christmas tree laden with lights and presents.

Kicking a rock across the ground and hearing the beat of wild horse hoofs within.

The generosity of a stranger . . .

. . . The stranger is you.

Crying when it hurts.

Laughing when it doesn't. A smile, a tear, they come from the same place.

A snowy white Winter's morning.

The voice of a friend.

The touch of angel's wings on your cheek as they watch over you.

A bit of wisdom taken from a story.

Memories stored within our mind's eye.

Icicles hanging from the eaves.

Ice cream made out of snow.

Relaxing in a bubble bath.

Getting kissed beneath the mistletoe.

A rocking chair.

A quilt made with loving hands.

The twinkle in a lover's eye.

Sitting by the fire with a cup of hot chocolate while the snow falls outside in Winter.

A wedding gown and a blushing bride.

Collecting shells from the beach.

A baby's sleepy yawn.

A child's bright face on Christmas morning.

Listening for sleigh bells.

A warm, sincere hug of support or friendship.

Running barefoot through freshly mown grass.

Hearing the ocean in a conch shell.

Rest after a hard day at work.

The Thanksgiving Day parade.

A Valentine card.

A gathering of family and friends for good times.

Mountains, oceans, meadows, stars.

And everything in between.

Diamond chips are everywhere. Life offers them up to us in abundance each and every day.

Why search for the diamond?
