Charisma
When you become a parent you are going to be changing lots of diapers. You are also need to be careful and use safety. Never turn your back on your baby while he or she is on the changing table. The baby could fall and be seriously hurt. Always use one of your hands on the baby. When the baby starts to reach things make sure all changing supplies are out of reach. Never use baby powder on infants. They could inhale the powder during use and die. To distract the infant, talk to the baby and give them a toy while changing. Wash your hands after changing infant diaper. This prevents the spread of germs.

Bathing your baby

Bathing your baby when he is a newborn to 6 months could be a challenge. It could be a wonderful parent-child bonding or scary if you don't know what to do. You could feel overwhelmed not knowing where to start. You need to learn how to comfort your baby during bath time. This would be an easy process. You only need to bath your baby once or twice a week. You are cleaning their bottom every time you change their diaper. If you bathe your baby often their skin becomes dry or sore. Baby's skin is very delicate. You want to give your baby a sponge bath until the umbilical cord or if boy (circumcised) healed. The umbilical cord usually healed after two weeks. Here is the instruction how to give your baby a safety bath.

Select a safe place to give your baby a bath. The kitchen table would work for the tub bath. Any flat surface would work for sponge bath, for example a changing table. You need to put a waterproof pad and thick towel on the surface. If you are the only one giving your baby a bath be sure to gather all supplies before you undress your baby. You cannot leave your baby alone, not even for a second.

Here are things you'll need for a tub bath or sponge bath:

Baby soap

Baby shampoo

Two washcloths

If you are giving your baby a sponge bath you will need two bowls of water.

Bath tub with water

A soft towel

A clean diaper

Waterproof pad

Thick towel

When you are ready to take your baby bath wash your hands before. Test the water in the bowls or tub before putting the baby in or giving a sponge bath. Talk or sing to your baby to comfort him or her during bath or sponge bath. Talk to your baby to let him know what you are doing. Make sure the water level of the tub bath is not too high. Most of the baby body and face should be well above the water line. Use one of your hands to support baby's head. One of the washcloths should be use for soaping and the other for rinsing. First wash the cleanest areas of your baby and work towards the dirtiest last.Shampoo your baby head first. Massage your baby head with shampoo to prevent Cradle Cap. When finish with head move to baby's face. Do not put soap on baby's face; instead use a soft wet washcloth to clean eyes and face. After you finish with face, move toward the neck and chest. You could use soap in this areas. Wash the arms, back and legs. Be sure to wash the crease because it tends to get dirties and they get rashes there. Always wash diaper area last. This would prevent from getting germs spread to other parts of body. Last never leave baby alone in a tub. Babies can drown with small amount of water.
