Did You?

A Powers
did you want to press me sharply when
the wind blew my hair back from my throat?
did you ache to kiss that sun-slicked flesh with
your mouth and other pieces?
did you move a little in my direction
before you caught yourself,
applied a little restraint?
did you think about it later, when the curtains
made that same motion and She was cleaning?
did you miss me while you held Her and
She moved disjointed and disgraceful like a stone?
did you mutter poetry much later,
imagining that my soft eyes were leaking gratefulness,
like a dawn of new passion on the
strings of an old jazz piano?

I enjoy your imagery, the illusions that achy jazz can give, which are summoned through your careful words =-) Well-done and cheers!
