Did Brittany Murphy Overdose on Drugs?

The shocking news hit us all today as Brittany Murphy the 32 year old star died of cardiac arrest. The big question is how did such a young and seemingly healthy woman die? Speculation at this point is running rampant that Brittany Murphy was hooked on drugs and may have overdosed. She apparently may have had an addiction to Vicodin and other painkillers as a result of complications from plastic surgery. If she did overdose it is yet another tragic overdose of prescription medication to hit Hollywood and should draw national attention to these medications. Are these medications really safe for us to be using and be prescribed?

Brittany Murphy probably had a drug overdose or had a severe underlying health problem that nobody knew about. Friends did come forward after her death and admit that Brittany Murphy definitely did have a "drug problem" as they put it. Toxicology reports on her death will not be available for weeks, so we will not know what and if she did overdose on or if she had any underlying health problems. Perhaps it may even be a combination of both.

Brittany Murphy starred in such films as 8 Mile,Clueless and Spun. She had a long and erratic career, but still had many more years of her career left. Hollywood stars having overdoses has become a trend in recent years, with Heath Ledger, Michael Jackson and now possibly Brittany Murphy possibly having an overdose as well. Whether she did overdose is at best speculation at this point as details continue to come out about her death. It is extremely rare for somebody to die of cardiac arrest at only 32 years old.

Recent photos of Brittany Murphy showed a star that was skinny and underweight, suggesting either an eating problem or drug use or both. Having an eating disorder such as anorexia does put additional strain on the cardiac system and can lead to cardiac arrest, especially if combined with drug use. Again this is all speculation at this point but with so few details all we can really do is speculate about the sad tragic passing of a young and beautiful starlet.

Celebrities tweeted all day about Brittany calling her a good person, a kind girl and Ashton Kutcher said "The world has lost a ray of sunshine today.". Cardiac arrest kills yet another Hollywood star before her time. Brittany Murphy, so young and beautiful is dead at just 32 years old.
