Did Domestic Violence Cause Tiger Woods to Crash

Was domestic violence involved? That is the only question that matters. Why? Because two children are a part of that marriage. We can agree with Tiger about his relationship problems. Whether or not Tiger Woods was or still is having an affair, be it with one woman or one hundred women, that is a private matter.

However, if his wife became so angry that she scratched or hit him then followed him out the house swinging a golf club that is a very different matter, and that is not private.

Admittedly, it sounds more realistic that Mrs. Woods became emotionally upset after learning about Tiger's alleged affair, and they began arguing. Perhaps he lied, which only makes a woman more angry, and she lashed out at him. Maybe he decided to leave, and she followed behind him in a fit of rage.

Possible Scenario:

She had a golf club in her hand or grabbed one along the way. Once Tiger got in the car her emotions flared, and she began hitting the vehicle. Or she hopped on a golf cart, and followed him swinging a golf club.

Tiger may have been pulling out of his driveway where he would have made a left turn. But what if Mrs. Woods swung and smashed out the rear passenger window? A startled Tiger might have flinched, and turned to look over his right shoulder where the sound would have been. Because he obviously had a hand on the steering wheel maybe this sudden body movement caused the car to veer right and move in the path it did out of the driveway rather than to left. This could explain how he ended up hitting the fire hydrant across the street.

Is it likely that the impact slowed the vehicle giving an angry Mrs. Woods time to run over (or drive a golf cart) to the vehicle, and swing again smashing the rear window on the drivers side. At this point Woods may have taken a look over his left shoulder, (again holding the wheel and turning towards the sound) as he accelerated to pull away from the hydrant he could have easily lost control again, and hit the next curb.

At this point (according to diagrams) he would need to turn the wheel left to get back on the pavement. If his wife was still coming at the car swinging the golf club it is more likely than not that Tiger was paying more attention to where she was than where the vehicle he was driving was going.

It is not unrealistic to think that in such a situation Tiger Woods may have been frantically looking out the rear or side view mirror, or over a shoulder to learn his wife's whereabouts. In all the confusion Woods may have stepped on the gas while looking around, and because his full attention was not on the road ahead he smashed into the tree.

This is just a thought, and it does not state any real facts reported or investigated.

What does not make sense is the fact that both back windows were smashed, and it creates doubt about Elin Woods using a golf club to break a window to enter the vehicle.

Some reports state she ran back to the house and got the golf club. Others state that she rode a golf cart to the scene after hearing noise. She did not grab a phone and call 911?

Why would Elin Woods become so angry?

First, it is safe to assume that most woman become furious when they think their partner is cheating because human emotions are powerful. Add some sort of proof, and one can imagine how it might feel knowing they have been betrayed and wronged by someone they loved and trusted.

Physical reactions may include increased adrenaline, sweating, and pounding heart. Our bodies send out chemicals which activates the flight or fight mode because it senses danger; either real or perceived.

Now, imagine being the wife of the highest paid athlete, the worlds number one golfer, the man with the squeaky clean image, the man who is the father of your children, and it is easy to feel the humiliation and rage.

Why would Tiger Woods lie?

He may have lied and made his wife his hero because he felt overwhelmed with guilt. The night of the incident, based on the reports and the number of women coming out of the woodwork, he would have known the extent of his infidelity.

Why do battered men lie and not report the abuse?

Guilt - Many cases of men being battered by woman they love go unreported because the man feels that it is his fault that the woman resorted to abuse; they blame themselves.

Tiger Woods knew there was more than one affair.

Pride - Many men do not report being abused by a woman because they are the stronger one physically.

Tiger Woods could assume his reputation would be damaged.

Shame - Many men feel ashamed about being abused by a woman because it makes them feel like less than a man.

Tiger Woods may have felt ashamed that he (in his mind) caused his wife to become abusive.

Fear - Many men think that no one would believe that their partner abused them; especially if the woman is much smaller.

Tiger Woods may have feared admitting any argument or domestic violence because his wife could have been arrested because he was bleeding, and had injuries.

(3) Whenever a law enforcement officer determines upon probable cause that an act of domestic violence has been committed within the jurisdiction the officer may arrest the person or persons suspected of its commission and charge such person or persons with the appropriate crime. The decision to arrest and charge shall not require consent of the victim or consideration of the relationship of the parties.

Perhaps this is why Tiger Woods made a written statement, protecting the wife he wronged, making Elin his hero; and in a roundabout way admitting his infidelity.

Why should anyone care?

No one but Tiger Woods' wife should care about his cheating. However, as Nancy Grace of CNN has mentioned several times lying on a police report is a crime, and if either Mr. or Mrs. Tiger Woods in fact lied then that should be addressed.

If Mrs. Elin Nordegren Woods committed the act of domestic violence and violated the laws then she should be arrested.

Domestic violence laws and laws in general should apply to everyone.

The question here should be did domestic violence cause Tiger Woods to crash, not who is number twelve or thirteen on the list of his mistresses.
