So how has Associated Content decided who the top 1000 content producers are? Well the first thing they probably looked at was the highest ranked content producers with the highest clout levels. Therefore, everyone who is a Ten or Nine for clout probably got a Top 1000 sticker. If you had over 100,000 page views you probably got a Top 1000 sticker. If you wrote highly controversial articles and therefore got a plethora of page views, you probably made the Top 1000. If you did anything above average to made Associated Content more money by bringing traffic in page views to their website, then you probably got your new badge of honor, a Top 1000 sticker.
Now I do have several problems with this method. The first of which is that some of the people who got Top 1000 buttons no longer write for Associated Content. In my opinion, if you are no longer an active Content producer, you don't deserve to get a shiny new sticker.
Secondly, if you don't post on the message boards and don't help out your fellow content producers by sharing your knowledge of the website so that others can partake in the money making, then you my friend, do no deserve to be a Top 1000 content producer. In this AC community which writers hold so dear, I use the word "community" strongly because that is what many people deem it to be. It has transcended the boundaries of not only making money, but making friends and connections as well. That is something that you can take to the bank! If a content producer wasn't known through his or her postings but was simply just another content producer, then they don't deserve a Top 1000 sticker.
Also, if you spammed like crazy on message boards, then you don't deserve to be a Top 1000 content producer. The creme of the crop rises to the top and those people are special because other content producers promote their work for them because their articles and stories are so good. Great content producers let their work promote itself.
So I hope that you were a Top 1000 content producer. I'm a newbie relatively to you old veterans but I am confident that by next year I will definitely be in the Top 1000 and will be returning with a Clout of Ten!

Post a Commentyeh like Hannah below I'm unsure how I made it ......I fit very little of your criteria
Hmmm.....
Yes I did make it into the AC Top 1000.
I got a top 1000 sticker but I have no idea how it was figured. I am just thankful I got one.
If you're interested, I've conducted a broad survey to determine what criteria was used to select the top 1000. I've found the answer and published the results here:

I have to disagree. I don't fit the criteria you mentioned, and I got a Top 1000. So maybe it's not as clear cut as you think!
