Did Jenn Sterger Receive a Picture of Brett Favre Masturbating in Crocs?

In the original story about Brett Favre sending 'sexting' pictures of himself via text message to Jenn Sterger, back in early August, it was reported by Deadspin that they had seen a picture of Favre masturbating whilewearing nothing but crocs on his feet. That story contained no pictures or any other potential evidence.

What is curious is that when the website released a video this week that contained voicemail, myspace and text messages, the alleged picture of Favre masturbating while wearing nothing but Crocs was not included.

It's important to stress that, at this point, there has been no definitive proof of anything actually happening. Deadspin did play voicemails that they claim were left by Favre to Sterger and the voice did sound a lot like the future Hall of Fame quarterback. The penis shots they published are, of course, harder to verify. One would imagine that only Mrs. Favre would have a pretty good idea if that is in fact her husband's penis or not.

For his part, Favre had, and has, the opportunity to deny all of this but would not do so when asked about it earlier this week at a press conference.

If a picture of Favre masturbating while wearing nothing but Crocs actually exists, it is curious as to why it was not included in the Deadspin release. There are really three theories here that I believe would help explain why.

One possible reason the picture was not released is that the whole thing is hoax and the picture does not exist. It could still be that the voice on the voicemail messages did not actually belong to Brett Favre and it could be that the pictures of the penis are not of Brett Favre. Could be.

Another reason why the Brett Favre pleasuring himself in nothing but Crocs picture has not yet been released is that Deadspin is purposely leaking pictures according to a timeline that would maximize publicity and traffic to its site. If all of the pictures were released at once, it gains Deadspin a one time event, basically, and most would probably not return to the site after viewing the pictures and listening to the voicemails.

Finally, it could be that Jenn Sterger still has the picture of Favre masturbating in Crocs and is holding it back as protection and/or leverage. If the picture exists, and Favre knows it, then he still has something to lose. What exactly Sterger needs leverage for is not known, but this is the woman who allegedly said that she was "afraid she would end up in a garbage can" if she were to get involved with Favre.

While Brett Favre, the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Jets would surely like to see the whole Jenn Sterger and Brett Favre masturbating in Crocs story go away, it seems unlikely, particularly given the number of open questions that remain, and particularly given the fact that the Jets host the Vikings and Brett Favre on Monday night on the ESPN game of the week.
