Did John Force Admit Guilt for Indy Incident at Charlotte?

Sandra Parker
John Force has tried to lay to rest the unfortunate events at Indy two weeks ago. In interviews aired during the Charlotte event, he has stated over and over again that he is ready to move on.

There were no apologies nor admissions or denials of guilt in the events that led up to the fateful falling out at Indy, but merely a plea for peace and the ability to move on. In subsequent interviews of the Pedregon brothers, both appeared to stand by the statements they'd made at Indy, indicating that John Force is indeed a cheater and master manipulator, though both seemed willing to accept the fact that it appeared he would be getting away with it.

John Force was fined $10,000 for the incident, though it was for an infraction against an official and not for misconduct nor for the heated exchange between himself and Tony Pedregon. Throughout the race, John appeared to reach out to Tony in an attempt at camaraderie. Tony and John were even videoed once sitting side by side on their scooters at the end of the racetrack with smiles on their faces.

John spoke volumes with his refusal to admit or deny guilt as well as his refusal to offer an apology, even if only to his fans. There have been many fans that have lost faith in John Force Racing, even though many have admitted that if the shoes were on their feet, they too would have done the same thing.

It's a hard thing for many of us to swallow, but money does make the world go round. John Force has had a tough couple of years on the racetrack and was obviously concerned about his ability to keep sponsorship dollars. He did what he did to secure his future and his team's future in drag racing, even if it meant having to sacrifice some fans, some dignity, and some pride to do it.

There is no doubt in my mind that John wishes he had never been put in the situation to have to make that decision, but as he can be quoted as saying, he didn't set up the match up, he only did what he thought was best for his team.

Good Luck, John. I'm still a fan.
