Now almost a quarter of the way through the 2010-2011, many are asking, "Did LeBron make the right Decision?" Let's review the first quarter.
Sitting in sixth place in the Eastern Conference, behind the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, Chicago Bulls (where some think he should have gone), and Indiana Pacers and just a half a game a head of the New York Knicks, are the 10-8 Miami Heat. The Big Three as they were prematurely pronounced hasn't amounted to much yet. I still stand by my earlier peace, Miami's Big Three Will Live Up to the Hype After a Little on the Job Training! http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/5939724/miamis_big_three_will_live_up_to_the.html?cat=14but as if now it has yet to be seen.
Coming together was supposed to be the beginning of a dynasty. The powerhouse team that was built to give the Celtics a run for their money. So far this season the Men In Black have lost to Boston twice. They also came up short against the New Orleans Hornets, Utah Jazz, Dallas Mavericks and the Orlando Magic all teams they need to beat if they want a ring, or a few rings. They even lost to the 8-10Memphis Grizzlies. Is it really time to right them off for good like so many of you have?
There has been so much talk about the three not being able to play together. Rumors of James not getting along and respecting the Heat Coach. I every read several articles about James almost hitting or knocking Eric Spoelstra down going into a time out recently. I saw the reply, he did brush up against the coach but the headlines said Lebron hits coach. I thought he pulled a Latrell Sprewell or something. The sad thing is was from mostly entertainment based or gossip sites and not credible from sports journalists. Everyone is just looking for something to say or write about. Everyone has a blog these days.
So I ask you, should the hometown hero, 'The Chosen One' have stayed in Cleveland where they catered to him? Should he have chosen to join Amar'e Stoudemire in New York and made the Knicks a contender in the Eastern Conference, after nine losing seasons in a row. Would he have been able to co-exist with ball handler Derrick Rose on the Bulls the way he is attempting to with Dwayne Wade on the Heat? What do you think he should have done?
It's easy for all of us to second guess, his decision. If the Heat end up in the Finals, it would be considered a good move. If they win three titles in the next five to six years it will be considered a great move. Some in Ohio and around the country for that matter will never be satisfied no matter what he accomplishes from this point forward.
One thing is for sure, everyone has an opinion or two on the matter. LeBron has reached that next level where everyone is going to carefully scrutinize and second guess his every move him for this point forth. He is damned if he does and damn if he doesn't; all because he didn't do it the way fans and journalist alike, thought he should. I believe it's still too early to count the experiment called the Miami Heat's Big Three out just yet. James would do well to heed the words in his latest commercial and not worry about what they are saying and just do what he do!
