In this year I moved from Clout 1 to 6, publishing 132 articles (not counting this one). On May 27, 2008 I published an article titled The Great Experiment: Can I Make a Living on Associated Content? and then an update on June 1, 2008.
How am I doing?
I have learned that while it is possible to make a living on Associated Content, it takes a large amount of work to do so. While I routinely break a thousand page views a month the pay for that and any articles submitted is not a large enough amount to support a household. It could be, if I wanted to work much harder, however.
I have gained something more valuable than money here, however. I have gained friendships. First and foremost is Don Pennington. He is the one who encouraged me to join AC, and for that I am eternally grateful. He is one of the hardest-working men I have ever met, and I am much richer for the knowing. Visit his page and you will find him, heart upon his sleeve as he pours his soul into every single piece. He deserves every single kudo I can give him and more.
This article would be for naught if I failed to mention Pamela Gifford. Pam, your encouragement in the realm of fiction humbles me. I saved screenshots of the day two of my fiction pieces were highlighted simultaneously by you.... Those pieces: What About Bob? and The Story of the Rose. That day I cried in happiness.
Janet Hunt aided me in my search for a better paying writing position, helping me to polish my resume and giving invaluable tips after her and Don persuaded me to try my hand at another company. Thanks, guys!
Barbara Lummus is a dear friend I actually gained through my sister, and who writes here on AC. We chat on Yahoo almost daily, and has been my virtual shoulder many times.
Lori Lane.. what can I say? She is wonderful. I enjoy when we write opposing pieces on holidays and other subjects. She is yin to my yang on the holiday front... You are a breath of fresh air... I feel free to poke at you and you come right back at me - all in the good nature it was intended.
Mike Hatz, Nona Robinson, Colleen Sera, Maxine Nelson, T.K. Moyer, Rex Banner, Brad Vertrees, Lyn Lomasi, Magena Fawn, Pattie Byrd.... I could go on and on... All of you, mentioned and unmentioned, have brought warmth to my soul through your friendship and encouragement. I want to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your friendship.
I cherish you. All of you. I cherish every reader who stops by for a visit. I owe a hug to everyone who has ever left a comment.
I have gained financially from Associated Content, but I have gained far more emotionally. I have laughed, cried, and been given a lot to think about in my first year here at AC.
I look forward to next year...
Peace to all,
Annienygma

Quite encouraging for a struggling new content writer. Even in my short association with AC, I too have had the privilege of meeting awesome writers. Keep writing!
Beautiful tribute. Yes, I too have gained much more from AC and it's wonderful writers than a monetary value. I have become a better writer and gained some wonderful friends!
Thank you for stopping by my page. It gave me an opportunity to meet you and read your work. I'll be stopping back - I've added you to my favorites. And I agree, Associated Content has an amazing community of writers who support each other. Donald was one of the first ones I met here at AC, and I am grateful for the meeting.
