Did M.I.A. Have a Baby?

Did That Pregnant Lady From the Grammys, M.I.A. Have Her Baby Yet?
As soon as the Grammys were over, I'm sure many people were keeping a M.I.A. baby watch after seeing M.I.A. and her humongous baby bump perform at the 51st Annual Grammy Awards. Of course Googling is never easy and I don't know about you but anytime I searched for info. annoying searches for Mamma Mia and Mia Farrow kept popping up.

On M.I.A.'s MySpace page "We Still Ganster Wid It" M.I.A. announced "MY BABY WAS BORN WEDNESDAY , HE IS HEALTHY , FINE , BEAUTIFUL AND THE MOST AMZING THING EVER ON THIS PLANET, OF COURSE IM HIS MUM!!!"

Will M.I.A. Perform at the Oscars February 22nd, 2009?
Little more than a week away, M.I.A. having had her child hold off until after the Grammys, still leaves open the possibility that she might perform at the Oscars. M.I.A. nominated for her work on the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack is anxious to hit the ground running in "FIGURING OUT A WAY TO BREAK OUT OF THE HOSPITAL!" It begs the question, if M.I.A. was willing to perform 9 months pregnant, will she post-pregnancy try to push the envelope and perform at the Oscars?

Should M.I.A. Have Performed So Late In Her Pregnancy?
No doubt, the press, critics and concerned parents have questioned M.I.A. as to whether it was appropriate for someone with a baby bump to be bouncing around stage at the Grammy's. It's not like she was jumping up and down or anything. In fact, M.I.A. was every bit the pregnant rap mama, carefully plodding along on stage like a large pregnant ladybug in a sheer black outfit and white polka dots. On her MySpace blog M.I.A. cheekily defends her pregnant performance on a video link with a bunch of pregnant rapping mommas.

So why would M.I.A. risk performing? Doesn't it seem selfish to do so? M.I.A.'s response to her newfound extreme exposure is addressed on her MySpace page "this is the only oppotunity i have had to do something about the genocide in Sri Lanka and im seizing that oppotunity, so for a lil while im gonna go from being M.I.A. TO I. Y. F. (in your face)".

So is M.I.A. married or a single Mom?
M.I.A. is engaged to Benjamin Brewer and guitarist for the band The Exit. The father of M.I.A.'s baby is the son of Edgar Bronfman Jr., Warner Music Group Chairman. Pictures of M.I.A. and her baby's father can be seen at the Grammy's here.
