Did Peter Cook Cross the Line with Bridget Nisivoccia?

Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook are in the throes of a nasty divorce. At the center are a number of women who are being linked romantically or sexually with Peter Cook since the dissolution of his marriage to Brinkley in 2006. One woman in question is Bridget Nisivoccia. Ms. Nisivoccia is the latest woman trotted out in the Cook - Brinkley divorce spectacle. Though the marriage ended in 2006, Cook finds himself and his predilections on the hotseat.

While Brinkley's lawyers believe that Cook's relationship with Bridget Nisivoccia was of a sexual nature there is nothing else to indicate this is the case. Ms. Nisivoccia, an attractive interior designer, says she was hired by Cook to decorate his Sag Harbor Mansion. She is expected to testify under oath as to the nature of her relationship with Cook. She classifies their relationship as "strictly professional". We have mutual clients and share a professional relationship and a respected friendship," Bridget Nisivoccia told The New York Daily News

Obviously, the sheer numbers of women being called to testify, indicate that Cook has indeed been busy. From a moral standpoint his behavior appears to be less than savory but it is my understanding that he has a right to date who he chooses. Where Cook seems to have run afoul of morality, the law and just plain good judgment is where his kids are concerned. Cook's court documented penchant for online pornography has landed him in a bit of hot water. Court testimony indicates that Cook's children may have seen him masturbating during an online sex session. What a person chooses to do to themselves in the privacy of their homes is their business, unless it has the potential to damage others. Wealth or social standing does not remove this social stricture.

In light of this information, what relationship Bridget Nisivoccia had with Cook seems irrelevant. The pertinent issues seem to be his alleged addiction to internet pornography that appear to have been so profound that he engaged in it even with his children present. It remains to be seen if Bridget Nisivoccia will turn out to be another of Cook's paramours. It hardly seems important except that it illustrates that Cook may have some serious issues that need to be worked out, not for his sake or even for Brinkley's but for their children.

In addition to being called to testify in these proceedings, Bridget Nisivoccia may have bigger problems on her hands. An angry former employee is alleging that that Nisivoccia and her business partners stole money from prospective clients and engaged in theft of furniture from estate sales. These accusations are currently unfounded and obviously made by a disgruntled ex-employee; however, their coming at this may not bode well for Ms. Nisivoccia.

Christie Brinkley originally filed for legal separation from Peter Cook, over a year long affair he admitted to having with his, then 19 year old, assistant, Diana Bianchi. This is not the first case of a handsome successful husband working closely with a nubile assistant and an affair taking place. People always seem amazed when someone cheats. It is much easier than people like to admit to cross the line when working in close and intimate conditions. This is especially true if you or the other person is relatively attractive, possessed of a modicum of sex appeal and having a bit of cash doesn't hurt. I am always struck when I see successful, wealthy, virile men with nubile young assistants and wives who trust that nothing is going on. I understand that trust is a component of a healthy relationship but being fool hardy is not. I am from the "trust but verify" school of thought. This means that vigilance will go much farther than jealousy.

It's only natural for a healthy male to be attracted to a beautiful young female. Cook is successful, relatively good looking and loaded with loot. What's not to find attractive? And if reports are to be believed, Peter Cook was parting with a significant amount of that capital in the relationship with Bianchi. What do teenage girls love better than Myspace? Shopping. According to testimony, he lavished gifts and money, in excess of $300,000 on Bianchi. At the time of the affair Cook was 47, cresting the hill on the big 5-0. Perhaps his need to feel vital fueled his attraction further. Cook and Brinkley appear to have just begun airing out their dirty laundry. As Brinkley and Cook continue to hammer away at one another, the only one's who will truly suffer are their children.
