Did You Proof Read the Minutes?

Kathryn Neff Perry
My hubby called me on the way home from the board meeting. "Honey, did you read the minutes before you sent them to the board?"
Well, I wanted to assure him that of course I read them. I did as I always do. Type them from his notes, proof read them, print a copy for his approval, and then send them out.
I remember thinking, why is he asking?
After all, I am not the secretary, only the wife of the secretary. I type the minutes in order to help him out. Every man needs so many hours on the golf course. If I type the minutes, dear, that leaves you extra time to play.
I scanned through my big brain, and all it's files trying to remember the day I typed the notes. If I'm remembering, it was one of those days I was doing several things at once, as usual. I think I also had a meeting that day myself, in addition to meeting someone for lunch.
He is a great note-taker, but not always easy to read. He inserts things and hopes/expects me to figure out where he really wants to put it. When he talks about "cutting and pasting" he's referring to using scissors.
By the time he got home, I had forgotten about his phone call. He walked into the office, "so how was your day, sweetie"?
Oh, oh, he NEVER calls me "sweetie".
I turned to face him. "So what's up?"
He was holding the minutes in his hand. "Did you forget the signature?"
Of course I didn't forget YOUR signature.
From the look on his face, I wasn't sure what I had done. I slowly read through the last paragraph.

Oh, I think I see the problem......

This is pretty funny. Do you think he'll ask you to type the minutes ever again?
