Diet Plan Cheat Days

Aaron Tadeo
Let's admit it. Most of us went through cheat days while we were trying to lose weight. These are days when we veer off from our workouts and diet plans to cheat in the sense that we'd eat stuff that contradicts our weight loss diet. We'd eat our favorite foods such as burgers, chocolates, cakes, ice cream, high cholesterol food such as fried pork, etc.

Well, I guess it's pretty much ok if and only if these days are special. If it's just a random day that you want to go and cheat from your diet plan, that's not good at all and it can break your momentum in your diet or ultimately make you fail at your weight loss regimen. If you're thinking that you want to skip your diet plan by randomly choosing this day just because you feel like it and you just want to reward yourself, think hard. Eating fatty and high cholesterol foods takes a long time to burn.

So, what are these days when you can somehow justify breaking your diet plan? First and foremost, if it's your birthday, it's pretty much ok if you eat at a fancy restaurant and eat some really good food. You can still try to minimize the intake of high cholesterol foods but since it comes only once a year, just go ahead and enjoy your day.

There are also occasions when you just have to eat really good food. When you celebrate special occasions such as the Christmas, Thanksgiving or The New Year most likely you'll be serving delicious foods. If you're invited to a party or another person's birthday, it would seem really rude if you don't eat just because you're on a diet plan. Just eat a little and don't ignore the food.

Well, if you have the luxury of choosing the foods you can eat and if you really want healthy foods then that's better. But the most important thing is that during special occasions; just make sure that you're having a good time. Just remember to keep your mindset clear when it comes to your diet plan and get back to your workout and low cholesterol diet afterwards.

Here's another reminder. During your cheat day, even though it's a special occasion, eat well but don't overdo it. Eating a half gallon of ice cream, huge servings of fried rice and pork, chocolates, chips, fast food in a single day isn't absolute cheating. Maintain control as much as possible. It will also make it easier for you to return to your usual weight loss diet plan. And by the way, today is my cheat day. It's my birthday so I'll go ahead and eat fried pork and fried rice.
