Dieting Around the Holiday Season

Healthy Way to Eat Around Thanksgiving

George Maris
What will make this year different than any other year? This year instead of watching what you eat, watch how much you're going to eat.

It's the holiday season and not only should you be on guard for watching what you eat, stay strong on your commitments. It's no coincidence that January marks the New Year's resolutions. The media is filled with Gym advertisements, diet supplements. The commitment should be to you and not to these advertisements. It's easy to fall into the trap of saying "after the holidays "If you can maintain a healthy diet during the holidays you will be ahead of the game, Thanksgiving falls so short of the start of the winter, that indoor activities include eating and drinking, and with the holiday season comes more time off. This is a bad combination, time and food. It is important not to give in, only to think that with the New Year coming you'll make a resolution, don't put that kind of pressure on you. Avoid the extra pounds and you will feel better about yourself.

Avoid the psychological issues that come from over indulging, think resentment and when you are tempted by the morsel of food think about the consequences.
