1. Contrary to what most paid diet plans say; you should not go out to eat, when you are on a diet. Restaurants may have low calorie or low-carb options but you are much better off if you make your diet food at home. When you go out to eat the chef adds extra fat and sugar to their meals so customers will enjoy their experience and want to keep coming back. Staying home while dieting will not only save you money but help you lose weight.
2. Do not eat until you are full. This is another simple dieting tip that you may have never heard of but that could have been difference of losing 10 pounds or losing 20 pounds on your diet. There s no need to starve yourself but you will want to stop eating when you are satisfied not full, even though you could eat a little more. This one may take a little practice to figure out that you are satisfied and to get yourself to stop eating at that point.
3. Don't forget the importance of drinking water. Plain and simple your body needs water and it will increase your fat burning ability. Drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily and spread them out during your entire day.
4. Stop eating sweets. This is a hard one for people with a sweet tooth or a chocolate addiction. Sweet tasting food contains lots of sugar, which will turn to fat in your body. Fat free items only replace fat with more sugar, so they are not ok to eat either.
5. Take a walk for about an hour. Walking will burn fat, raise metabolism and strengthen your muscles that have been getting ignored while you have been a couch potato. Exercise may be seen as a dirty word, but if you are truly serious about weight loss then you need to get your body moving.
Walking is best because it is not going to build muscle but will burn fat. You want to get that heart rate up but only just. Remember that athletes eat big meals full of carbohydrates before a big event or game, because at their high level of exercise that is what they will be burning, not fat. You want to burn fat so do not do strenuous aerobic exercise.
