Diets Don't Work But Pole Dancing Does

~Addie~
I have been the type of person that has yo-yo dieted for many years, always looking for that fix to change my weight permanently. Don't get me wrong, I am not lazy when it comes to dieting, I give it my all and expect all it has to give me. One thing over the course of the past, I don't know, 7 years? I have learned is that diets don't work. It wasn't until a friend took me to a pole dancing class that I realized, this is the best kept secret in weight loss and body toning.

I know what you're thinking, pole dancing? Not for me! That is exactly what I thought until that class I took. After the class I did my research. Purchased a 50mm dance x-pole and got to work. The results....Phenomenal! If you have tried diets, and see they don't work, and have spent money on a gym membership that isn't producing the results that you are looking for, continue reading this article as I explain the amazing benefits of weight loss with pole dancing.

What is a diet anyway?

The actual definition of a diet is: the usual food and drink consumed by a person or animal (an organism). A few other related definitions of a diet are: to eat sparingly for health related reasons or to lose weight and the act of restricting your food intake or your intake of particular foods.

Let's face it, diets have to be a full lifestyle change in order to maintain any of the results achieved from fulfilling the definition of what a diet is. We bend over backwards to buy healthy foods, to not eat out, or restrict the amount of food we consume to that of nothing. The result, usually we lose a few pounds but after reaching our targets we re-introduce foods back into our lives that cause the weight to slowly but steadily come back. It is unfortunate, but the truth is diets don't work.

What is Pole Dancing?

Pole dancing is a performing art form made up of a combination of gymnastics and dancing. Pole dancing typically involves dancing sensually using a vertical 45 to 50mm pole. Pole dancing is known for its use by female exotic dancers in gentleman's clubs and strip clubs. Many years ago Chinese poles (similar to a vertical dance pole) were used in cabaret, circus and stage shows. These performances took place in a non-erotic environment, where-in the style and context of the moves are very different. Advanced level pole dancing requires one to have significant strength, endurance and flexibility. Utilizing a vertical pole in a fitness environment allows for the dancer to perform more athletic moves such as spins, pole climbing, and body inversions. These movements demand upper body and core strength to perform to proficiency.

Sound like something you can do? Probably not, right off the bat. After I purchased my x-pole and set it up I looked at youtube videos, to self-learn some moves. After about a week of trying stuff, not being able to climb the pole, and feeling like a complete fool, I had lost 5 pounds and 3 inches in my waist. I never once felt like I was working out because I was having so much fun. The best part of it all was I was achieving results that I didn't even see working out five days a week in a fitness center, two of which were spent with a personal trainer. I now have been pole dancing in the comfort of my own home for 6 months. I have lost over 20 inches and 20lbs. I have not changed anything about my eating habits except I drink water and tea instead of soda. That's it!

Weight loss doesn't have to be hard, and pole dancing for weight loss and fitness makes it as simple as 1,2,3. The simple fact that you are having fun while you work out makes up all the difference in the results you can achieve. I have since become a pole fitness instructor and am teaching classes to help other women achieve their fitness goals through this new form of fitness.

Celebrities such as Carmen Electra, Kendra Wilkenson of Girls Next Door, Eva Longoria, Tori Spelling, Brittany Spears, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Moss and Kate Hudson. Pole dancing has also appeared of shows such as The Girls Next Door, Housewives of Atlanta, Bad Girls Club, and Pretty Wild. Pole dancing has become a trend in weight loss and muscle toning as well as just a girls night out for some fun. So if you are tired of not seeing any results, looking for an alternative to your fitness regimen, or just need somewhere to start to attain your goals look into getting a vertical dance pole. You will be glad you did.
