Different Ideas for Girls' Night Out

Looking for Something Different to Do on Girls Night Out? Here Are Some Ideas!

Abigail Beal
Are you doing the same thing over and over when you go out with the girls? Are you going to the same clubs, the same bars, the same restaurants? Then you are probably having the same conversations, meeting the same people - and not having the best time you really could be having.

Here are some ideas for some variation for your Girls Night Out. Something different to try, and some ideas may appeal to you more than others. But these ideas may also get you thinking about other things that you could be doing on your Girls Night Out that would be lots of fun to do - and that's really what its all about.

Jewelry making - There are new Jewelry making places opening up in lots of towns and you can make jewelry with your friends. It is lots of fun. You select the piece you would like to make, and what gemstones you would like to use for it. Most places charge by what type of jewelry you are making and then by what gemstones you are using. This is great fun - and not only do you have a good time, but you have some great new accessories to wear after the evening is over!

Paint your own pottery - These are popular in lots of towns and most of the paint your own pottery places not only have weekend hours, but also evening hours as well, which will appeal to singles and working people. Some places charge you per piece you select and then a firing charge. The place I have gone to also has a special every couple of weeks where for one day you can do as many pieces as you want for a single firing charge, and that is a fun day, and its usually a very busy day for the pottery place. You can make all types of pottery items - cups, mugs, plates, platters, pet food dishes, picture frames, piggy banks.

Poetry reading - This is something different to try and you can usually find a poetry reading at a college or a university. There are also poetry reading events where people can sign up to read their own poetry, and you will hear from lots of poets. Other evenings it can be just one person, or maybe two or three people. Usually this is a very inexpensive thing to do, sometimes there are books for sale. This can be a great place to meet people who are taking graduate classes, writers and creative people.

Foreign Film - Even if you always love the big box romantic comedies or action movies - it can be a lot of fun to try a foreign film for a change. Usually foreign films are shown at an arts theatre in your area and typically they have several films showing. Seeing a foreign film can be a fun way to practice a foreign language.

Makeovers at a Department store - Now what girl doesn't like a makeover every now and then? Getting a Department store makeover can be lots of fun. Often you need to schedule these in advance and some cosmetic lines require that you make a purchase, so be sure to ask if they have any requirements. It can be fun to bring your digital camera and take some before and after shots of yourself and your friends to see what you think of your makeovers.

Sporting event - Sports may not always be your thing, but going to a ball game can be a lot of fun, especially with a group of people. Now what can you always find at a sporting event ladies? That would be....men! A number of my friends have gone to hockey games, basketball games or baseball games and left with dates for later the next weekend. You never know if you don't play....

Show at an art gallery - An evening at an art gallery can be a lot of fun. An art gallery can draw a very interesting crowd of people. Usually art galleries serve wine and cheese and crackers. Some will also have live music. It can be nice to go out for an evening to enjoy art and possibly meet some new people.

Go to a day spa - Many day spas now have evening hours, and it can be lots of fun to go get manicures and pedicures, or go get a facial together with your girlfriends. Some day spas also offer special packages for girlfriends to enjoy together.

Visit a historic site - This can be something different to do. Why not visit a historic site in your area and take a tour or look around? This can be interesting and fun to do.

Try a dance class can you can make several different themed nights on that. Have a dance instructor come to the house. Bellydance, Burlesque, Latin night learning salsa. The options are endless.
Our company does many bachelorette parties and we have a bellydance class with henna tattoo, or salsa night with nachos and margaritas, pole dance(of course) with a male dancer( he he) Montreal DG Entertainment

I a variety of different ladies I hang with. One group I have is my sorority, another is the ladies in my family (we're very close in age-a lot of similarities/likes), and of course my faves (which are my friends/family beyond my sorority and family). There are so many things we do. Mostly which entales us going out to eat. I live in Northern VA, which is not so far from D.C., so there's so many possibilities. But if you're limited to your location, we mostly do "window shopping", dinners, and movies. But if you want to get creative, there are "Slumber Parties" out there. (Adult toy party). There is one that I'm planning; it's a self-defense class offered at the Boys and Girls Club or YMCA. You can check your local recreation/community center. Or if you prefer to stay in, have a make-up/make-over party. And for food wise, you could do a appetizer and dessert theme. I hope that helps.

I'm turning 29 in a few weeks, and I wanted something special for my last 20's birthday - not the same old dinner-and-dancing at the same ol' places (totally unmemorable). Well, I'm lucky enough to live in Colorado, and since it's still summertime there are great deals in the mountain resorts! So 12 of my best friends and I are driving to Vail, staying in a condo for a whole weekend, and cooking for each other for all the meals except my birthday night! There are spas, shopping, restauants...It's like a mini-vacation for the same price as a night on the town! No matter where you live, I'm sure there's something fun and new within driving distance, get creative! As for gas prices, we're all carpooling and chipping in! Everyone is super excited and it's turned into an awesome girl's weekend instead of just the same ol' boring birthday :D

    Hi there,

I plan girls nights annually and am running out of Theme Ideas. We have done Scavenger Hunts, All About Sex Night, Murder Mystery, Save A Horse, Ride a Cowboy, Mardi Gras, Casino Night. We like going out, not staying in.. and it's a large group of us..so have to be fairly easy to do for a large group (20+). Any ideas out there? We are all about 30 (ish) ;) and don't get to go out often..so I like to make it a wild crazy night...but am running out of creative ideas.
    Thanks In Advance!

Thanks! Great suggestions! We just started a monthly girls night out and seek out fun things to do. Right now we are simply seeking out hole in the wall resteraunts but I'm sure we will need to get more creative after we have eaten our way out of town. :-)
