This Digital Photo overnight bag craft project should cost you less than $6 per child, maybe less if you already have left over craft materials. Digital photo craft project for kids are fun for kids of all ages. I love making this out of pre made pillowcases and Digital Photo Iron Transfer Paper. The first thing you need to do when making your own Digital Photo Overnight bag is to go ahead and attach the handles to the pillowcase.

You might want to do this before hand so that impatient kids can go ahead and start decorating their Digital Photo Overnight bags. To attach the handles I like to cut two pieces of ribbon, wide ribbon works best, about 10 inches long.

Attach them to the bag with a needle and thread. Kids can easily do this themselves. Buy larger metal needs, with large eyes. This will help ids thread the needle.

You could also use two grommets on each side of the bag. Now, tie ribbon or rope through the holes as handles. You can buy grommet kits at any craft or fabric store.

Anyway, It looks really cute if you place you handles in about 4 inches from each edge and sew them on with a button. I place the ribbon on the bag, a button on top of the end of the ribbon and then start sewing through the holes. If you don't have any buttons you could still just sew your ribbon on to the Digital Photo Overnight bag.

Now, Follow the instructions on your digital photo transfer paper and put your digital photo on a piece of photo transfer paper. Now, apply this to the front of the pillowcase.

Now that the handles and the digital photo are finished insert your piece of scrap cardboard into the Overnight bag. It also provides a smooth solid surface for the kids to decorate on. This insert will work best of you use a tape measure to measure your pillowcase and then cut out the cardboard or poster board to size.

Now the fun can start. Use any inspirations you can while decorating the photo on the front of the Overnight bag.

Tip: You can use solid colored pillowcases in a variety of colors.

Let your kids use their imagination during this part of the Digital Photo Overnight craft project. This is also a great time to use up any craft materials you have laying around the house.

You could also create a themed Digital Photo Craft project by using stamps dipped in fabric paint to stamp a pattern of any kind all over the border of the Overnight bag, right around the transferred digital photo.

Puff paint is great for outlining details in the transferred photo as well.

This Digital photo craft project is a blank canvas for kids and the perfect time for them to express their creativity. Best of all they can use this Overnight bag year after year.
