Top 5 Digital Photo Gift Ideas

Autism-Dad-1
You or someone you know has just had a baby and would like to commemorate the experience. This is a guide to doing so with digital photos. Today digital photos are the norm and the possibilities and uses of digital photos goes way beyond a picture in a photo album. When our son Arek was born we did not have the money for the usual source of baby photos the person who comes in your hospital room smiling and wanting to photograph you and your baby. Later tries to sell you over priced items.

We had a decent digital camera at the time and had taken our own digital pictures. We used our computer to transform the pictures into gifts ranging from mugs to t-shirts. The key here to remember is take as many digital photos as you can ranging from close up face shots, to the baby being held by different people and in different backgrounds. The top 5 ideas for digital photo baby gifts are as follows:

#1 A quilt made with a collage of the digital pictures, iron on transfers for ink-jet printers is a good way to do this from your home for much cheaper than the commercial alternatives. Another alternative to this is a giant picture of the baby printed on the quilt. This requires a higher quality digital photo and you will have to have the work done professionally. Have the date and other details included and it is a keepsake that will last for years.

#2 is a nice t-shirt or sweatshirt with the digital photo of the baby and the details of birth included on the shirt once again this can be done yourself with a ink-jet printer and iron on transfers. These honorable and modern baby gifts can be personalized with the different digital photos of the baby and the particular relative. I have a few of these that we made and the iron on transfer is still in good shape after 5 years.

#3 A calendar made out of the digital photos of the baby and the parents. You can include a different digital picture for each month. You can also have interesting facts that occurred in history on the same date included in the calendar. This can be done from home as well with a calendar kit for ink-jet printers. I personally find using a professional company is simpler but more costly.

#4 Have the digital photos printed on a coffee mug is very popular way of commemorating the birth of a new baby. This is done professionally as well, and can have up to two pictures along with the details of birth included. This is a nice because if you use the mug it is always a reminder to you or whom you give the gift to of the precious moments.

#5 is as simple as can be but now you can just give a digital photo key-chain. The price on these items is relatively cheap and you can have quite few digital photos stored on the digital photo key-chain. This is a new alternative to the key-chain with a digital photo printed and enclosed in a plastic clear shape.

A tie for the 5th best gift idea of digital photos is always a photo slide-show CD or DVD which can be customized with music, commentary and be as creative as you can be with it. This is what we did as well for our distant relatives who are not able to see the baby or us very often. Remember the pregnancy is an intimate part of the baby being born so if you feel comfortable include any pictures of the pregnancy as well. That is it, the top 5 ideas for turning your digital photos into gifts that will last a long time. Enjoy and congratulations on the new baby.
