As with wedding invitations, the design of a wedding announcement is only limited by your creativity. You can have a plain, traditional or elaborate design on simple or handmade paper. You may add special verses or keep the announcement simple.
You can also add your digital wedding photos to your wedding announcement. This is one way to let your friends to share your memories. It is totally up to you to have one or more photos on your wedding announcement. You can design the card yourself or get professional help.
For less than $200 you can print over 50 wedding announcements. Here are some useful tips.
• Decide on a size and layout for your wedding photos and the wording of the announcement. Plan on how many photos you would like printed.
• The theme of your card will depend on many things - special sayings or verses, type of paper your print on, type of calligraphy you choose, etc.
• You can give your wedding announcement a timeless look by using digital photos with a black and white finish or a sepia tone. Or you can use color pictures with rich and bright colors.
• Skim through the digital photos from your wedding and select the digital photos to print on your wedding announcement. Make sure the pictures fit the theme.
• You can design the entire layout for the card with the wordings, sayings and photos on a computer. Then you need to simply print it on good quality paper with a good printer. You can also get the prints at a photo center.
• Alternatively, you can have the wordings printed in advance. Once you have your digital photos from the wedding, you can print them to the appropriate size and stick them on the cards. This will give a personal touch.
To print the cards and send out the announcements without delay, plan the theme of the card in advance and get your photographer to hand you the wedding photos right after the wedding. Then you can select the best pictures and prepare the cards. It is usually a good idea to have a friend or relative oversee this project in case you have honeymoon plans and do not have time immediately after the wedding.
